While learning AWS, I got distracted by custom images of distros on Proxmox. I discovered two ways to create custom ISOs and ready-to-use operating systems in my homelab:
Cloud Init images of distros.
Customizing generic ISOs with the help of Packer.
I also found some cool templates on GitHub for Proxmox Packer images.
